Pat’s Story

During a recent stay in hospital, Pat attended the pilot project dance sessions. Pat recently suffered a stroke which affected movement down one side of her body. She also often displayed intense confusion or delirium as a result of infection. In those times her mood would be very agitated and upset. It was felt that access to music and movement would help her. By the end of the first session Pat’s agitation had lessened, and she was clearly hearing and responding to the praise and delight she was given with regard to her movements.
